Self-Drive Car Rental in Goa: Documents, Rules and Deposits

A self-drive car rental in Goa guide to checking documents, deposit terms, pickup details, and the return handover.

Check eligibility and documents

Before booking, confirm the minimum driver age and licence requirements with the rental provider. Keep your valid driving licence and government photo ID ready. International visitors should confirm whether an International Driving Permit is required for their licence and trip.

Read the rental terms before pickup

Check the total rate, deposit amount, fuel policy, included kilometres, late-return rules, insurance conditions, and cancellation terms. Ask the provider to confirm any charges and the pickup point in writing before you travel.

Record the handover and return

At pickup, compare the vehicle condition and fuel level with the agreement and take a dated walk-around video. Save the provider's assistance contact. At return, follow the agreed fuel and handover process and keep the deposit-refund confirmation.
